21st century female style of clothing, to blame?

21st century female style of clothing, to blame?

Miniskirts, Ripped Jeans, and short shorts. Sleeveless, spaghetti straps and crop tops. These are the types of clothes that most likely to worn by the females of today’s society. They are now enough of those long skirts, simple pants and tees. But who would have thought that these female types of clothing will be the one to blame of sexual harassments that worst may lead to rape?

We can’t change the fact that the type of clothes that are now trend on girls these days are very fashionable and quite attractive not just for the same sex but also to the boys. Boys find it very attractive when the girls shows their S-line, their cleavage and bellies that can lead for men of not controlling their sexual drives and may lead of sexual harassments to the girls.  And after that, if they’ve been caught, they’ll blame the victim. Yes everyone, victim blaming. Want to know how? They are saying that they just do that because of how that girl dress. They didn’t control their sexual drives because of how that girl dress? turns them on! And another thing, they say girls who wears shorts clothes want “it.” When did the clothes became the consent?!

“I know you want it,” “You know that you want it.” It was painful on how people blaming the victims just because girls wear short clothes so they assumed that they want it. They were mistakenly accuse of wanting it. Gosh, who is the girl who want to be molested?! Who?! No one right?

It’s painful when the society always telling girls what should do… what should wear. That they shouldn’t wear this one because this looks undecent and blah blah. Is it the girl’s fault of wanting to be beautiful and attractive? It isn’t their fault. And it will never be! Y’all we shouldn’t blame how the girls dress because it isn’t the reason why they experience sexual harassments. Wanna know why? Because it should be the boys controlling their sexual drives!

At the very start, if the boy really has something to do with the girl, he wouldn’t mind what that girl is wearing. Yes, it may added but it will never be the reason. Now let’s go on to the situational thing so everyone will understand what I want to imply.

If they always insisting that it is because of how the girl dress then it would be the same as; if a man is not wearing any helmet or head gear then it gaves permission to anyone to hit him because he’s asking for it? Is it that?

Also, Maria Clara who is a character in Jose Rizal’s Noli Me Tangere experienced sexual harrasment by Padre Salvi. Let me remind you, people. Maria Clara is a character in a novel which the setting is the past, wherein women’s clothes are long skirts. But still, she experiencd sexual harassment. Besides there are lot of cases that even young childrens experienced sexual harrasments. So in the first place, again, it is not how the girls dress. It is the boys who needs to control their sexual drives.

In conclusion, what I always emphasize is we shouldn’t blame how the girl dress when they experienced and experiencing sexual harassment. Being catcalled, touched in their private parts is never a girl’s fault. We should change the mind sets of those uncultured people who keep talking, pressuring girls of what they should, what shouldn’t wear, what should do and what they should not do. That they should be prim and proper because that is how the girl shold act. You know people, stop stopping a girl to be herself.  Stop stopping them to do what they want to do. Stop stopping them to enjoy life but instead change those uncultured people’s mindsets. Make boys control their sexual drives. Educate them. That is the only way  to stop all these sexual harrassment. And if the mindsets already changed, boys can control their sexual drives and we are all educates then we cam all live in a place where is sexual harassment-free and we could live in harmony.

And again, 21st century female fashion style, shouldn’t be blamed. Because how the girl dress will never justify a molester/rapist’s behavior. And woman clothing will never be the consent.

Sexual harassment is a bullying behavior, not a compliment… NOT A WOMAN’S FAULT!

Our Today’s Reality

Our Today’s Reality

Extrajudicial killings, usage of the drugs which was strictly prohibited in our country, massacres, poverty, corruption, crimes and the newest, the war. And when the news flash on the television, you’ll see the faces of the people who faced oppression and helplessly begging for help.

Let’s talk first about extrajudicial killing which happen here and there, and almost everywhere! Extrajudicial execution is killing of people who are said to be drug lords and pushers. And mind of the word “said” everyone. This means, with or without evidence. Some says, it’s for the country, for what we all wished and wishing, for the peace. But, have you ever imagined yourself being killed without you even have the rights to justify that you’re innocent?!

Come to think of it, guys. Let’s just dig a little deeper than how we usually think. The issue of drugs. May people are addicted to it, even teenagers! It was like drug also means addicting in dictionary. To the point that users even say that when you take or using it, they feel like they’re in heaven. Well, atleast, at first. But then, it goes otherwise. It’s not you who are taking it anymore, but it is now drugs that takes you. You are being addicted! You use it often, it uses you slowly. Then you, being unaware, commit crimes! That’s how it goes!

Moving on, let’s go to the massacres. Which also have one of the newest news. Have ever heard the family who got killed in Bulacan? It was like doing different crime into one crime. Why? Because this massacre involved too much crime. From robbery, murder, and even rape! Going out to the massacre of the family issue, those crimes I have mentioned (rape, muder and robbery) the one who is involved and suspects were people we believe that the hope of our nation, and yes, teenagers!

Poverty, yes you’ve read it right. The children loitering in the streets begging for some coins which they say it’s for their food, teenager who is out of school youth that may even lead to teenage pregnacy, are some of the cases of poverty. In connection to this, the corruption in government. Billions of fund which should be intended for people are being corrupted by the officials we whom give trust and are votes on! And most of the time, it always went out like that!

And lastly, the war in Mindanao which was caused by Maute’s. Many peoples are killed. Many establishments are destroyed. The whole country is affected.

So many problems, and our country is experiencing all of these. But there’s one root of all these, the society’s cancer, the never-ending “Lack of Education.” Many people who was involved in those oppressed acts are lack of education. We are in a third-world country, or which they say, “developing country.” We’re trying to get up at the mud we’re stuck at. But then, we couldn’t. Why? Because aside from the problem of the lack of education, we are sellfish. We act one by one, that should be as one! We are Filipinos, living in Philippines, so we should do our very own, “bayanihan!”

On the other hand, I believe it’s not too late. We can do a change, not immediately but we will, definitely! By a process! Hand in hand, let’s all wake up to the reality where we are in, stop dreaming into some fantasies, it won’t get you something to eat! And by doing that, let’s make a change! For the better! It will become easier because we’re doing it as one and hand in hand. So let’s do it friend, because it is not yet too late. Not yet!

Extrajudicial killings, usage of the drugs which was strictly prohibited in our country, massacres, poverty, corruption, crimes and the newest, the war. The faces of oppression faced by people who are helplessly begging for help. “The country without miracles, tries to get up from the page. But the bold ink and sharp colors hold it down.” So we should try, to get up with bold ink and sharp colors, with intelligence and wisdom, hand-in-hand, heads up, “WE ARE FILIPINOS!”
